How Exporting a Pet from Malaysia Works
1.
Check the Destination’s Rules
Each country sets its own entry rules, and they can be very different. A cat going to Singapore and a dog going to the UK need different documents, tests and waiting times. This is the first thing we confirm.
2.
Microchip & Vaccinations
Most destinations require an ISO-standard microchip and a valid rabies vaccination, done in the right order. If something is missing or out of order, it can add weeks, so we check your records early.
3.
Blood Tests, If Needed
Some countries require a rabies blood test (often called an RNATT or titre test), and sometimes other tests. These usually come with a waiting period, which is often the longest part of the move.
4.
Final Health Check & Export Documents
Close to the travel date, your pet has a final health check with the government vet, and the export documents and health certificate are issued through DVS. We book the appointment and handle the paperwork.
5.
Flight Day & Arrival
We handle check-in at KLIA and keep you updated until your pet lands. In most countries, we also arrange a local agent to clear your pet through customs and any quarantine on arrival.

How Long Does It Take?
It depends mostly on where you’re going.
- Some destinations can be ready within a few weeks, if your pet’s vaccinations are already in order.
- Destinations that require a rabies blood test usually need several months, because of the waiting period after the test.
- A few destinations need six months or more.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to export a pet from Malaysia?
From a few weeks to six months or more, depending on the destination. Countries that require a rabies blood test take the longest. Contact us early and we'll give you a timeline for your route.
Can I do the export paperwork myself?
It's possible. But small mistakes, like a vaccination in the wrong order, a missed deadline or a wrong date on a certificate, can mean your pet is refused boarding or held on arrival. Most owners prefer to let us manage it.
Does my pet have to be on the same flight as me?
Not always. On many routes, pets travel as cargo, sometimes on a different flight from their owner. It depends on the airline and the destination. We'll explain the options for your route.
Can my pet travel in the cabin?
Only on some airlines and routes, and usually only for small pets. Most international moves from Malaysia go in the hold or as cargo. We'll tell you what's possible for your trip.
Who looks after my pet when it arrives?
For most countries, we arrange a local agent who clears your pet through customs and any quarantine. For a few countries we can't arrange this, and if yours is one of them, we'll tell you at the start.
What happens if the rules change after we start?
We keep track of your destination's requirements while we prepare your pet's move, and tell you immediately if anything changes. Changes made by governments or airlines are outside our control, but we'll work out the best way forward with you.
